Wonder

Do you ever have bizarre coincidences you can't explain? Conversations that trip over something someone said or something you read. Do you wonder about them? I do. It seems to be happening to me a lot lately.

A life well lived

She was a young mum when she came to Australia with my dad, three children and another on the way. Dad came to work at Monash University and mum looked after the household. A traditional sixties family. Full of dinner parties, Sobranie cigarettes and very dry white wine.

Cherish each moment

I can be easily derailed where writing is concerned. I usually have a million excuses for not writing, how I feel being at the top of the list. This year I decided to change things up and let my values drive my creativity rather than my feelings.

I sat down to type up my notes about creativity. Then I remembered the date and sat here thinking about my dad.

Moment by Moment

A little voice in my head kept telling me I was in denial. Maybe I was in denial about being in denial. Perhaps what I thought of as staying in the moment was avoiding reality.

Straight from the horses mouth

I have always been horse crazy. Coming to Australia I was promised my own horse as incentive to leave Wales. Not that I had a choice. Mary Poppins says it best: ‘That’s a pie crust promise, easily made and easily broken.’

Holidays

We brought home two little dogs during all those lockdowns. They saved our sanity and kept us laughing when all we felt like was crying.
