I have always been horse crazy. Coming to Australia I was promised my own horse as incentive to leave Wales. Not that I had a choice. Mary Poppins says it best: ‘That’s a pie crust promise, easily made and easily broken.’

When I was nine or ten my dad would get frustrated with me because I would bring home strays. Finding and caring for lost dogs, stray cats, birds with broken wings and even kids with bad parents was normal for me. I didn’t know how to be anyone else. Dad would say to me, ‘You can’t be the conscience of the world.’
We see it every day in social media. Those people who can’t help it, they have to correct typos, grammar or misinformation.
