To thine own self be true
Many years later when I picked up my pen to write again, I found I still felt an invisible person reading over my shoulder. It took me a very long time to let go of worrying about who was going to read my writing. Four years of blogging has helped me be brave and write anyway.
The time has come the walrus said…
I don't remember writing being anything other than my happy place. The flow, the zone, the place I love to go to, evaporated. I'm pleased to say I have continued to write this blog. Not a complete failure then.

Writing seems to be the area that suffers when I am hit with too many emotions.

Christmas muse
This urge to create might be what some people call ‘the muse.’ I think of it as the creative energy that runs through all living things.

I am easily distracted. I have a vivid imagination and often more ideas than I need in one day.
You never know who’s listening
All my life I have sought to express myself with words. Sometimes it has an impact on others and they let me know, but not always. It does have an impact on me. Somehow putting it on 'paper’ crystallises my thoughts and I hear my inner world with more clarity.
Curiosity
There are a lot of cliché messages taking up space in my head. Not all of them helpful. Over the years I know some of my decisions were influenced by one or more of them without me even realizing it.
Retreat from writing or writing retreat?
You know how excited you feel when those adds pop up for writer's conferences in America and you toy with the idea of getting up at four in the morning to hear your favourite authors speak? Yeah, me neither.
